 The Main Characters

  • Dr. Lyndon Jones, renowned Harvard Egyptologist, was informed via telegram from his dear friend Jackson Elias that he would be returning from abroad on the 15th of January, 1925. Elias related that he had found some information regarding the disappearance of the long lost Carlyle expedition. He requested that Dr. Jones put together a crack team of investigators to look into the disappearance of said expedition.Jones obliged him, and assembled a well rounded group of experts he suspected might be the equal of any task Elias might set before them.

The Carlyle Expedition
Central to this case is the Carlyle Expedition itself and after going through old newspaper stories the team assembled as clear a picture as they could of the events that befell Roger Carlyle and his team.

The expedition principals:
Roger Vane Worthington Carlyle - 24 year old Millionaire playboy and leader of the expedition. He had no credentials of any kind to recommend him for an expedition of this kind, simply the money to fund it. He has been at the center of many scandals since reaching his majority and is a notorious waster of his family's money. Gave a well remembered party for his own birthday at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel upon reaching adulthood.

Visct. Pevensy, Sir Aubrey Penhew - A renowned and respected egyptologist, Penhew was the assistant leader of the team, and in charge of excavations. He is personally responsible with founding several important branches of Egyptology, and for several important discoveries, particularly at Dahshur. He is the Founder and and Chief Executive of the Penhew Foundation which has underwritten many important archaeological researches at home and abroad and is responsible for the education of many brilliant but penniless scholars.

Dr. Robert Huston(Said "Houston") - A fashionable 'Freudian' psychologist, accompanying the expedition to pursue parallel researches into ancient pictographs. Rumored to have been attending to Carlyle in a professional capacity prior to the expedition.

Miss Hypatia (High-Pay-Shee-uh) Masters - A New York society girl who was romantically linked to Carlyle in the past. Acted as photographer and archivist for the expedition.

Mr. Jack Brady - A close personal friend of Roger Carlyle's. Accompanied the group as general factotum.

Mysterious Black Woman - Nothing is known of this woman, at present.
